More scrapping...

I have spent a lovely day with Kev and the boys and I also managed to do some scrapping. I created this page for our 52 week challenge at Scrapbooking4Less - and I scraplifted the layout from one of my favourite books at the moment The Scrapbooker's Palette by Kerry Arquette & Andrea Zocchi.
Hope everyone had a relaxing Boxing Day,
Lots of love,
Lisa

I love scrapping

Just had to share some of my latest pages - they are of Harry's first birthday. They are bright and colourful - because it was such a happy celebration. Harry's hair was still growing back after his craniofacial surgery, but he relished the birthday cakes, the presents and most of all the wrapping paper. We share TWO parties with family and friends - with Pat coming from Sydney for one party and Kev's parents coming for the other party. The boys were spoilt and we loved every minute of it! It is hard to believe that it is 16 months since these photos were taken. Time has certainly flown by...
That is what I love about scrapbooking it brings back precious memories and allows glimpses into the past. It has also allowed me to have some precious time just for me. Fortunately I have a very understanding husband who lets me indulge my passion. And I encourage him with his strategy games. Hopefully we pass on our passion to our beautiful boys - who knows I may even convince them to scrapbook...
Hugs,
Lisa

Xmas Day

Well Xmas day is almost over. The boys are tucked up in bed and Kev is watching TV. What a special day it was today. I was worried about how I would cope with all the festivities and missing my beautiful mum so very much. I has spoken about it to Kev and his attitude was not to anticipate too much - just go with the flow. For those of you who know me well you would realise "going with the flow" is not really something I do very well. But in the days leading up to Xmas life seemed so very busy, that I didn't have much time to think. Then this morning after the boys were out of bed and enjoying their breakfast and Bob The Builder, Kev gave me my Xmas present. A beautiful engraved locket with a photo of my mum - that way (he said) Mum would be with me during the whole day. And I really felt her presence. After the boys finished breakfast they discovered a giant swing set in the backyard from their Nana & Grandpa in Queensland. They were so excited and Mitchell cried when they had to come inside. Then it was time to check out their new black boards and they had lots of fun with the chalk. After a leisurely morning we travelled South to Kelly's mum's home for a beautiful Xmas dinner. Harrison distinguished himself by loudly protesting as soon as the food arrived, but after some firm words from Mummy he settled down to eat some lunch. The boys had a ball exploring Leonie & Gerry's home with all of its Xmas decorations and then afterwards they went to the park with Uncle Adam & Grandad. Later in the day we went to Mum & Dad's home and enjoyed still more food. And so now it is almost time for bed, my tummy is full, I am exhausted from monitoring the movements of two little whirlwinds, but I feel happy that we all had a very special day. Hoping that all of you had a special day too.
Hugs,
Lisa

Only 4 more days til Xmas

It seems like ages since I dropped in to my blog site and left a post! Life sure gets busy close to Xmas doesn't it? I have been making a few small presents for Xmas - but doesn't time just seem to fly this time of year? In between present making I completed my first altered project - a little bucket with antique paperstock- to hold my scrapping tools. It was actually a lot of fun once I worked out what to do. Now all I need is to make another one to store my scrapping pens! I love some of the really detailed altered projects, but I may need to wait until I have a bit more time. Both boys are enjoying the lead up to Xmas, although they don't really understand about Santa and presents. They love all of the twinkling lights and decorations. They saw the Speech Pathologist for the first time on Friday and she feels that while they are both delayed with their speech, with a bit of intensive work we should be able to help them a great deal. The new word yesterday was "Albert" - Kevin's dog. They were very excited and kept pointing at the dog and shouting "Albert, Albert". Harry also started saying "cheese" - his favourite snack. Life is busy, but happy at the moment and the boys are a delight (this opinion may have changed by the end of the day - LOL).
Hope everyone is enjoying the festive season,
hugs and kisses,
Lisa

Xmas is almost here

Well Xmas is almost here and the next few weeks will no doubt pass in a flurry of eating, drinking and socialising. I am still trying to complete some of my Xmas presents. Decided I would try for the personal touch and make some of my gifts this year. Actually it has been a lot of fun and it is something I hope to pass onto my beautiful boys as they get older. I already have some ideas of what we can do. I am trying some OTP (off the page) projects - this is an area of scrapping I haven't really gotten into, but since I made little trinket boxes for the boys I have become inspired to try my hand at a few more objects. So now all I need is some time and hopefully I will create some works of art. By the way I have become addicted to some of the groovy website tools - check out my Xmas banner below.
Sending lots of love to all of our friends and family,
Lisa

More from me...

Just wanting to send my love to all of our friends who are facing the threat of fires at the moment. Fortunately here in SA the fires have been small and relatively well contained. But the poor folks in Tasmania are facing such a difficult time (the photo on the left shows the smoke around Tasmania). My heart goes out to those people who have lost their homes and their possessions. I know that if we had to leave our house in a hurry I would grab the boys keepsake boxes and my albums - oh and I might take the boys, the dogs and Kev (but not necessarily in that order). Our family is preparing for our first Xmas without our beautiful Mum. I am missing her more and more each day. It doesn't seem fair that she isn't here to see Liam enjoy his first Xmas or the boys open their presents. Liam is such a cutie and is becoming more and more aware of his surroundings. He seemed quite enchanted with his big cousin Mitchell and they even held hands for a while (see below). But he may take a while to warm to Harrison after he threw a book at Liam which hit him in the face. Luckily no permanent damage was done except to Harry's pride at being sent to the naughty step! And Liam wasn't thrilled about this turn of events either!Hoping everyone is keeping safe and is enjoying the lead up to Xmas.
Hugs,
Lisa

Well what a hot and uncomfortable time! The past few days Adelaide has sweltered. On Saturday it was 41 degrees celcius and poor Kev had to work. So the boys and I stayed inside and played. At least we stayed cool, unfortunately the same couldn't be said for the Airconditioner installer and our friend Tony who installed a fantastic airconditioner in our shed. So now I can scrap in comfort - THANKS GUYS!! Mitch & Harry kept cool with lots of cold baths and running around in the boxer shorts. They looked so cute! Then Saturday Grandad came and looked after the boys so Kev & I could go out for a while. We caught up with friends at two parties - and one of us drank rather too much Bundy. Can't tell you who...but let's just say no scrapbooking was done today. And today we went to Dad's and just kicked back for the afternoon. The boys had their first experience of iceblocks on the stick - Mitch devoured his...and Harry threw his in the fountain.
Hope everyone has managed to stay safe with all the bushfires. And has managed to keep cool.
Hugs,
Lisa

Well I thought I better show of my newly organised scrapping space. This will be confirmation for my friends and family who have always wondered whether I am "a little obsessive"! I am really happy with how this worked out. Hopefully it will mean that I will use up my mountain of supplies - without resorting to buying more (yeah right!).

Will be another hot day tomorrow. So I am hoping the boys may have a long nap so I can get some more scrapping done.

Hope you manage to find a cool place to rest,
Hugs,
Lisa

These are two very cute photos of the boys enjoying The Wiggles Concert yesterday. They had a ball. Today they have insisted on wearing their Wiggles caps all day - even while eating breakfast. Harry keeps yelling out "diggle" every time he sees a picture of The Wiggles and we have watched Wiggle Bay about four times.

Hope everyone has been able to keep cool. It has been nasty here today - really hot and windy. Can't wait until we get an aircon in our shed - then I will be able to scrap in comfort.
Hugs,
Lisa

WIGGLESMANIA

Today the boys and a small tribe of adults went to the Ent Cent to see The Wiggles. And wow what a show! It was wonderful. Harry wasn't so sure - and spent a lot of the time holding onto me. Mitch on the other hand was dancing and grooving away in the aisle. Two very tired, but very happy boys are now in bed. Just before they fell asleep I heard Harry saying "diggle" over and over - too cute!

This is The Wiggles website - where I downloaded this cute picture

Hoping to get my scrapping space a bit more organised. I have been chosen to be part of the Design Team for Scrapbooking4Less (see my favourite scrapping sites). Thanks heaps Shelley! I am looking forward to the challenge.

Lots of love to everyone,
Lisa

Having fun with my new CRICUT

Well guess who has the best hubby in the world? ME that's who! I was worried about spending money on buying this whizz-bang cutting machine and he said "just buy it" - so I did! And it is SO MUCH FUN! I have already used it to make a calendar cover...but that's going to be a Xmas present so I won't show it just yet.
(Anyone who is interested in this fab machine should contact Shelley who owns Scrapbooking4Less)

Apart from that...we had a lovely day with friends at a BBQ yesterday, then we all decided to go for a walk. Mitchell decided to do a runner and one of our friends Lois grabbed him, but as she was rejoining the group she tripped and fell, hitting Moira. And now Moira has a broken leg in 2 places and has a summer of plaster to look forward to! Mitchell of course was completely oblivious and ran off to join his brother. Too much excitement for one day. I don't know how Kay & Kym are going to top this for their next BBQ!!!

And tomorrow we get to experience first hand WIGGLESMANIA!!! I don't know who is more excited the adults or the kids.

Hope everyone had a great weekend.
Hugs,
Lisa

Getting the idea...

Well I have finally worked out how to add a slide show of some of my scrapping pages to my blog. It is now almost 1am and definitely time for me to head to bed. I just know that Mitch & Harry will be up bright and early!

Goodnight all,
Love Lisa

I am a blogger

So I have finally embraced technology and become a blogger!
I enjoy reading the blogs of some of my scrapbooking friends so much, I decided it was time for me to take the plunge.

So over the next few days I hope to get myself organised and post some photos of my beautiful boys and some pictures of my scrapbooking.

Hugs,
Lisa
